Anna & Matthew’s Bendooley Estate Book Barn Wedding

Anna and Matthew celebrated a gorgeous, intimate and relaxed New Years’ Eve Wedding at the Bendooley Estate Book Barn in the Southern Highlands.

As many will now remember, the summer of 2022 was a rather wet one on Australia’s East Coast. With rain comes beautiful blooms and lush greens that really set the scene for this casually-elegant afternoon affair.

Anna picked out a particular orientation for the ceremony that was a little bit different to the usual arrangement at Bendooley Estate. She had mentioned to me that she really liked the way the tree trunks behind the ceremony spot curled together, as if in an embrace.

This is the sort of detail I love. A beautiful, natural little detail that is easily overlooked but dictates how a whole ceremony (and a whole day) becomes unique and special.

The whole day was full of these little details. From surprise speeches to a reception decorated in pages from a favourite book, it was an oh-so lovely way to spend a day around friends and family in a beautiful setting. A little glimpse of warm, soft sunset and a Greek-themed dancefloor capped of a most wonderful celebration of love.
