A Hunter Valley Dream

This was a very special wedding. Harleigh and Callan got in touch with me a while back, and told me a bit about their day. They explained they were young, on a bit of a budget, but had some pretty cool ideas.

This wedding shows what can be done when a community of people get together and make something properly special. So much of it was put together by friends and family, and it all came together beautifully at Pokolbin Hall in the Hunter Valley.

This isn't another blog about a big venue wedding. This is about as real as a real wedding gets. Everyone pitched in to make it unique. Unbelievable food, a boho-inspired decorated hall, and lots of happy, laughing people.

To top it off, we found a (not so) deserted country road and had a bit of fun in the nearby vineyards. When we returned everyone settled in, but then something special happened: the sun lit up the bushfire-smoked sky and bent the light into stunning purple hues. We ducked out, jumped the fence into the cattle paddock, and grabbed some incredible photos. Enjoy!
