Welcome to Oliver Smith Photo. This website contains a collection of my work as a photographer.
I first began my adventures in the photographic medium through the gift of a small film SLR, given to me by my father when I was thirteen years old. It was an old camera, and had been used for many years as the family's only camera. With the emergence of digital photography, this camera was now given to me as we had acquired a new digital one to replace it. I spent many years snapping away on family holidays, and developed a passion for photography.
Many years later, I began making films, and spending a lot of time behind the viewfinder of video cameras. I eventually purchased a stills camera to use on shoots, and it soon became a balancing act between the two mediums. I love filming, but the creative energy of a well thought-out photograph, and the ability to freeze time and create an imaginary world, really appealed to me. I now split my time between the two mediums, and enjoy both with equal passion.
The gallery contains a small sample of my travels and experiences over the past few years.
